RB Leipzig has a new head coach: Martín Demichelis. The 45-year-old Argentine started his job on Monday and visited the training academy at Leipziger Cottaweg. Demichelis is the successor to Ole Werner and received a two-year contract from RB.

Demichelis is an experienced coach who was most recently active at RCD Mallorca in the Spanish league.

RB Leipzig's sports managing director Marcel Schäfer said in an interview: «We want to win games. This goes beyond a content component, this goes beyond a physical component. And there's this enthusiasm, this fire, this passion. Martin combines all that».

Demichelis will start the preparation with the team on July 13 with a public training session.
