RB Leipzig loses long-time goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi, who joins Villarreal. The Hungarian signed a contract with the Spanish top club. Gulacsi, 36, was with RB Leipzig for 11 years and was considered the undisputed number one since the Bundesliga promotion in 2016. In February this year, the former Hungarian national goalkeeper suffered an internal ligament tear in his knee, after which former coach Ole Werner then put the 24-year-old Vandevoordt in goal. After Gulacsi had fully entered training again, he supported his younger teammate. For his professional behavior, he was allowed to play 90 minutes in the RB goal in the season finale against SC Freiburg. The departure of Gulacsi leaves a gap that will be filled soon. According to media reports, the Saxons are said to have agreed with Norwegian World Cup goalkeeper Örjan Nyland, who will also join the training camp in Saalfelden, Austria.
